I still go to mine, because I continue to catch fish, but I have mostly resisted the temptation (I’ve cashed a few individual fish).

Hahahaha I know right can’t believe it will be 10 days for me Thanks for letting me know & I sure hope it’s worth it.

@Lucky_Princess thank you for testing this theory, and posting your results. I guess you’re aware that @Night Guy has been doing similar delayed collection testing on CW for about a month. It would be impossible to do a direct correlation between the two sites because there are so many more elements to CW’s cities than with Seas aquariums. However it does seem there’s a similar factor of delayed collection resulting in more and better rewards

I asked @Night Guy just last week if he’d done any research on maximizing aquarium collection, He said because he focuses mainly on CW, he hasn’t had enough time or experience on Seas to make recommendations yet. I think he’ll probably be interested in reading thru what’s been posted here though.

On CW you can collect coins from your city every 6 hours. You get gems, passes and charms from your city separately from your coins, in what are called Green Boxes. @Night Guy has been testing various daily/weekly coin collection scenarios and delayed opening of the Green Boxes for 5-7 days. It seems players who have the most valuable cities see the biggest boost in the amount of total boxes, gems, passes, and higher clover charms by waiting 7 days to open the Green Boxes. I’ve been testing various combinations of collection times, and even though my city isn’t nearly as valuable as his, I still get a bit of a boost from waiting 7 days to open the Green Boxes.

I’m excited to test a 7 day delayed collection here and post my results. For some reason I totally missed this topic when it was first started, so I’m a little late to the game, but can’t wait to see if delaying collection will increase the rewards I get from my aquarium.

Also, I want to remind those who may not be aware that to get the most return from your aquarium, you need to use gems as well as fishin’ chips to level up your fish. I’ve noticed that Seas hardly ever gives me more XP points to upgrade a fish than I have fishin’ chips plus a small amount of gems needed. I have 239 of 288 fish and only three that can be upgraded ATM, because they’re the most expensive ones I have to upgrade.

This is my ten day collection.

Wow, I have 253 species, with 127 ready to level up. Of those, twenty are at level two or above and require fewer than 2000 Fishin’ Chips to level up. The lowest I have to level up TO level two currently, require 7500 Chips, I’m waiting to do these when I can do them for a combination of Chips and Gems using lower Gem amounts, with the Chips I have, it would currently take 2640 Chips and 324 Gems.

Well here it is 10 days & I guess it was worth it lol

I have a question for those of you conducting this Aquarium Test. During the ā€œWaiting Period,ā€ are you abstaining from Catching any Fish and Leveling Up any Fish, as either of those activities would alter the results you are seeing when you do finally collect, because those actions would ā€œaddā€ to the value of your Aquarium. Let me know when you have a moment, either in my Inbox or here on the Forum. Thank you !! –K

Nope, not abstaining, I’ve raised a few, but am going to try to only raise them from one to two for a while, which means I need lots of fishing chips.

I’m up to 254/288 species. 138 ready to level up, 4 need less than 100 Fishing Chips, 21 less than 2000, and 29 less than 3000. The least I need to move any from level 1 to level 2 is currently 7500 Fishing Chips.

Just finished my first 7 day test. I usually collect 1x a day, but my daily results vary widely. I recorded three days of collection, added the totals and divided by 3 to get the average daily number for each category.

I think just like on CW, I’m not at a high enough game level for the 7 day collection to make a huge difference although I got a slight increase in most items. Also I fished and upgraded during the test, so as @KHR said that probably changed the results. I need to try it again without doing any fishing or upgrading.

Here’s my 7 day collection totals.

I divided these by 7 to see what the average daily numbers were.

5 gems
52 passes
25 charms
107,586,248 coins

3 day average daily collection
3 gems
57 passes
16 charms
110,909,908 coins

Small gains in gems and charms.

In the last few days, I’ve caught five new species of fish, I’m up to 259/288, I’ve also raised most of those new species up to level 2 already. Less than five minutes after posting, I caught species 260 and was able to raise it to level 2 already as well. Cuvier’s Beaked Whale is the only recent addition I have yet to level up. I caught another Cuvier’s, it gave me the point I needed to advance it, it’s now also level 2.

Just caught another new fish, Spotted Seahorse, plus got a new box with lightning on it and chose that one.
